Obituary for Stanley Krumholz

Stanley  Krumholz
Stanley Krumholz, 96, of Delray Beach, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Palm Beach, Florida. He was born April 4, 1920 in Far Rockaway, New York to Arthur and Mollie Krumholz.

Stanley worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard before enlisting in the Navy in 1943. During the war he manned a 20mm antiaircraft gun on the PT 190 in the Solomon Islands. After the war, Stanley owned Jet Roofing Supply Corp. and Alpine Roofing Co., in Huntington Station, NY. His crews installed the roofing on thousands of new homes from Long Island to New Jersey during the building boom of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. He was known for his sense of humor and dry wit. He excelled at throwing dice on the craps table and strikes in the bowling alley but his real passion was animals. He lived for many years in Delray Beach, Florida, with Dolly, his Mollucan Cockatoo and Candy, a calico cat but he befriended animals wherever he went.

He was predeceased by his loving partner of 27 years, Bea Goren. Surviving are his sons, Conrad Krumholz and his wife, Jackie of Huntington, NY, Steven Krumholz and his wife Victoria, of New York, NY and, daughters, Laurie Andrews and her wife Loretta Gleason, of Glastonbury, CT, Molly Krumholz and her husband, Michael Goldberg of Somers, NY, and Joanne Morgan of Holon, Israel; step daughters, Denise Kuczek of Hicksville, NY, and Debbie Massalone of New Jersey, granddaughters Michelle Morgan, Jennifer Marmorato, Sarah Goldberg, and grandsons, Michael Krumholz, Jeffrey Goldberg, Jack Krumholz and 2 great grandchildren, Nico and Nia Marmorato. He was predeceased by his grandson, David Krumholz and his stepdaughter, Peggy Massalone,

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday March 25th, at the Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth Florida. A luncheon will follow.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Zaksee Florida Bird Sanctuary, 7647 Gardner Road, Tampa Florida, 33625.
