Obituary for Benjamin G. Garrison

Benjamin G.  Garrison
Reverend Benjamin Goodwin Garrison was born February 6, 1923 in South Carolina to Benjamin Harrison Garrison and Annie Goodwin Garrison. He received his early education there and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Soon after, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for three years, and was Honorable Discharged as a Radioman Third Class in 1945. His most memorable experiences in the Navy has been portrayed in a movie called “Proud.”

On September 9, 1950 Ben married Uldine Boyce. God blessed this union with three daughters, Lorrine, Naomi and S’rah. He has also been blessed with seven grandchildren, Carl, Malcolm, Christopher, Miriam, Danielle, Austin and Jewel. In addition, he was also blessed to live long enough to enjoy five great grandchildren, Elijah, Lorena, Andreya, Amayah and Amari).

On Thursday, Feb. 15th, Pastor Garrison transitioned into eternal life. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. He was loved and respected by many.
