Obituary for Harold Sternfeld

Harold Sternfeld
Harold Sternfeld, just days before his 91st birthday, passed away March 30th with his family by his side in Lake Worth, FL. A WWII veteran of the Navy who served in the Philippine Islands, Harold was born and raised in Washington Heights in Manhattan where he attended George Washington High School. He played 2nd base for the Cincinnati Reds farm team in CA. He started and owned a successful and respected lady's clothing manufacturing business called Season's Best in NY's garment district. Ever the athlete and fond of Native American causes, horseback riding, the cinema and an avid animal lover, he was always a joy to be around. Harold won many accolades for his senior softball leagues in Hendersonville, NC and the Palm Beaches in FL. He was blessed to be able to play into his late 80's. He will be best remembered for his enthusiasm, smile, zest for life and all around fair, honest and good nature.

He is forever loved and survived by his wife Cris, former wife Sheila, son, Ken, daughter-in-law Anne, son, Bob, niece, Sandy, nephews, Ed & John, step-daughter, Niki & husband Bill Heller, Jana Ray Sternfeld, Lauren & Mack James and his wonderful & beautiful grandchildren, Anna, Tim, Sierra, Michael, Rhody and Griffin. He was predeceased by his father, Ben, mother, Rose, brother Ed and Louvenia Williams.

Harold cherished the many close and dear friendships he was so thankful for. The family would like to pay special thanks to Roger Fried, Rose Richemond and the TrustBridge team for helping make his end of life a peaceful one.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 5th at 10:00 AM at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. Donations may be made to TrustBridge Hospice of Palm Beach County (TrustBridge) or North Shore Animal League (Animal League).
