Obituary for Robert L. Taylor

Robert L.  Taylor
Robert Leslie Taylor of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away at the age of 81 on February 9, 2017.

He was born in Richmond, Virginia on December 23, 1935 to William Leslie Taylor, Jr. (1917-1998) and Carrie Pearl Didlake (1916-1983).

He is survived by his four children, Raymond Leslie (Lisa Blake) of West Palm Beach, Donald Keith (Laurel Crandal, deceased) of Lake Worth, Lawrence Earl (Denise Corbin) of Panama City, Florida, Glenn Kevin (Kari Trama) of Lexington, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Robert is also survived by his sister, Diane (Linden Perkins) of Carson City, Nevada.

He joins his wife of 61 years, Margaret Lennis Schmick (1934-2017), and his two brothers, Ronald Earl (1939-1973) and Jerald Clinton (1943-1990), in Heaven.

Robert served his country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1957 as an Engineer Supply Specialist. He married Margaret on July 13, 1955, while stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. They moved to Maryland in1957 after he retired from the service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, reading, sailing, and flying his airplane.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24 at 10:30a-12:30p at the Palm Beach Memorial Chapel.

Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 367 in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, his family requests for friends to send memorial donations to the American Legion Scholarship Fund.
